Secure IoT Product Development with an Understanding of the Attacker’s Perspective

  • Event: Nullcon Masterclass for Developers
  • Date: 26th November 2020
  • Description: This 1-hour online talk, attended by over 100 participants, was tailored for IoT product developers. It focused on exploring potential attack surfaces on IoT devices and offered crucial insights for developers and vendors. The discussion spanned hardware and firmware perspectives and emphasized security mitigation strategies. Link

Hacking IoT with EXPLIoT Framework

  • Event: CISO Platform
  • Date: 13th November 2020
  • Description: This 3.5-hour online workshop, with over 70 participants, introduced the open-source IoT Security Testing and Exploitation Framework - EXPLIoT. The workshop enabled participants to explore IoT device hacking and even extend the framework by creating plugins for new IoT-based exploits and analysis test cases. Link

Firmware Reverse Engineering

  • Event: Hackaday Remoticon
  • Date: 7th November 2020
  • Description: This 2-hour online workshop engaged over 200 participants worldwide. It provided an introduction to firmware and the art of reverse engineering. The session included theory, practical examples, and hands-on labs to kickstart participants’ journey into firmware reversing. Link

IoT Security Assessment

  • Event: The Indian Dutch Cybersecurity School (IDCSS)
  • Date: 8th October 2020
  • Description: In this 1-hour online talk, attended by over 300 participants, I explored different aspects and methodologies involved in IoT security assessment. The discussion shed light on various IoT attack surfaces. Link

Hardware Attack Basics Workshop

  • Event: International Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT)
  • Date: 11th November 2020
  • Description: This 2-hour online workshop engaged over 100 undergraduate and postgraduate students from IIIT. It provided a foundational understanding of hardware hacking to kickstart their journey. Link

Hacking IoT Training

  • Event: CPX360 Checkpoint (Bangkok, Vienna, and Online)
  • Description: Initially, I delivered an 8-hour training on Hacking IoT at the CPX360 conference held in Bangkok and Vienna. Later, I continued to provide this training online as a regular trainer for Checkpoint. Link
